Up into space
The application deadline for the Up to Space project has been extended!
The original deadline for applications for the unique Up to Space project has been extended by three days. This is due to the recent floods that have affected the entire Czech Republic and neighbouring countries, and the associated and related interruptions in power supply. Pupils and students aged 13 to 18 (inclusive) now have three more days to sign up for the space project. This opportunity runs until midnight on Thursday, October 3.
The selection of future teen “astronauts” for the Up to Space event runs from 2 September. Twenty selected pupils will experience weightlessness on board a specially modified Airbus A310 for the first time in the Czech Republic.
The original deadline for applications was only the end of September, but due to the floods and we have decided to extend the deadline. The floods hit some parts of the Czech Republic much harder than others, and applicants from these parts of the country had a much more difficult situation, for example due to the often quite long power cuts. Therefore, with the water receding, we extended the date also because among the applications submitted so far there were conspicuously absent, for example, those from Jesenik.
So get in and go to space!
