ANTS International Conference – Advanced Nuclear Technologies in Space, Prague

Event date: November 23, 2026

The inaugural edition of the international conference on the use of nuclear energy in space, “Advanced Nuclear Technologies in Space (ANTS) 2026,” will be the first European conference ever to be entirely dedicated to nuclear technologies for space applications, bringing together leading experts from the global space and nuclear communities. Given that both sectors are evolving rapidly, the ANTS conference was established with the aim of creating a long-awaited platform that will connect Europe’s growing capabilities with international developments in this strategic field.

The conference aims to foster collaboration among research institutions, industry, space agencies, and nuclear organizations and to address key scientific, technological, and policy challenges. Topics will range from nuclear fission systems, nuclear propulsion, and radioisotope technologies to testing infrastructure, mission architectures, and regulatory frameworks, reflecting the entire ecosystem required for the deployment of nuclear systems in space.

The conference is being organized by a team from the Czech Technical University (ČVUT), particularly colleagues centered around the Stellar Nuclear technology team, which is developing a nuclear reactor for the Moon. Other organizers include, for example, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the European Space Agency, the University of Leicester, etc. Representing Charles University, Prof. JUDr. Jakub Handdrlica, DCs., from the Department of Administrative Law and Administrative Science at the Faculty of Law, Charles University, will serve as chairman of the legal panel.
