Regional Round of the 8th CASSINI Hackathon: EU Space for Defense and Security is Behind Us. Who are the Winners?

27. 11. 2024

🥇 TerraLink took on Challenge No. 2 focused on UAVs and presented a secure, scalable, and resilient connectivity solution for emergency situations, remote locations, or GNSS jamming. They utilized Galileo OS NMEA integrated with other data systems and came up with a cost-effective, out-of-the-box solution that is easy to deploy, requires no existing infrastructure, and ensures reliable connectivity.

🥈 KOKKONAV introduced an anti-spoofing solution for military and commercial drones. They combined several approaches and layers of protection, such as real-time spoofing detection using AI, which allows for safe navigation without GPS systems and resistance to electronic warfare capabilities. Their solution significantly reduces costs not only in terms of technology but also in terms of mission success.

🥉 NAIR (Neural Agent for Intelligence Reconnaissance) proposed an innovative solution for mapping forest fires. By combining tactical drones with the Sentinel-2 GEOINT satellite, they aim to overcome communication challenges and enhance the efficiency of wildfire monitoring and response across Europe.

This is a summary of the 48-hour hackathon, and we wish the winners good luck in the international round.
